The Mirrorcube / Harads, Sweden

A small hut on the shores of Lake Santara, Finland that will charm you with it’s cozy minimalist interiors and incredible surrounding nature.

Hidden among the trees of a dense forest in northern Sweden is the Mirrorcube, a futuristic-looking, floating structure camouflaged by mirrored walls that reflect their surroundings. Designed in 2010 by Tham & Videgård Bolle Tham & Martin Videgård, this unique treehouse has received features in countless publications and tv-shows, due to the innovative nature of the design and the use of high-tech materials to protect from the harsh climate of the region. Guests here have the unique opportunity to experience the wilderness of nature without fear of the unknown, as this is a hotel that focuses specifically on wildlife and ecotourism.

The Mirrorcube spans four meters in every dimension, with an incredibly well-engineered base that consists of an aluminum frame around a tree trunk. The walls on each side are covered with reflective glass and six windows provide a stunning panoramic view of the area. Inside, the interiors are made of plywood and offer enough space for a double bed, bathroom, lounge, and a rooftop terrace to enjoy your morning coffee or tea. In a separate building are also the showers and a sauna, located just a few meters away and accessible through the 12-meter-long bridge, as well as the Treehotel’s restaurant and bar that serve fantastic meals all day long.
